    Contrary to the "Blue" HMO plan I previously had, my pharmacist says Lumenos won't allow him to dispense more than thirty days worth of my maintenance medicines. As a result, rather than one trip to the pharmacist every ninety days I'm now forced to go there every month -- a costly and inconvenient irritation.

    Why does Lumenos disallow 90-day refills of medications policy holders will obviously be on for the long term? How might we get Lumenos to re-consider this unhelpful policy?

    I agree. We should be able to get 90 days at same price at our local drugstore.

    'Thank you for the question. Here's some information that might help clarify how the pharmacy portion of the plan works. In addition to the retail supply, the plan also offers a 90-day mail order option. While some plans are able to offer a 90 day supply at retail, they may not be able to offer equally competitive discounts at mail order. The Lumenos plan stresses strong discounts at both mail and retail outlets.  I hope that you will be able to take advantage of the mail order option and that this will resolve some of the issues with the 30-day retail supply. Also, if you have specific Rx related questions, you can always call our Customer Service phone number for more information.

    A number of medications have certain temperature ranges associated with them, which should not be deviated from (storage and short-term excursions, etc.). How will mail order drugs be packaged to ensure that the medications stay within that range? - I have a black mailbox, and in summertime the temperatures get quite high (over 110 F), while in winter time they can easily get to below 10 F. Mail runs in the mornings, yet I don't get home 'till evenings...

    Hi Wolff. I know people first hand who receive these types of meds in the mail, they come in boxes with heat resistant styrofoam and ice packs to ensure the medicine stays the correct temperature.
