    I don't understand the ideal of a health coach? 

    I have joined a GYM (at my expense) and hired and personal Trainer. ( at my expense again). Yet Lumenos does not cover any those expenses.. Other health insurance cover at least the gym memebership, why doesn't Lumenos. I don't need a Personal Health coach, it serves no purpose. I am taking steps to inprove my heath, this is the best I have felt in over 40 years,

    Hi saniewski -  To answer your question about the Personal Health Coach program, it is specifically designed for people who have ongoing health conditions like asthma, diabetes or heart disease. Individuals qualify for the program based on a set of criteria.  A Personal Health Coach is a specially trained registered nurse who works with individuals on a one-on-one basis and helps them understand how to manage the condition and how to work with their physician and other health care professionals. The program is designed to give individuals who have an ongoing health condition the extra help they may need.

    It's great that you've been so self-motivated in improving your health -- that's what the plan is all about: taking control of your health and doing things to live healthier. 
     
    In terms of the gym membership, you are correct, gym membership and personal trainers are not covered services under your health plan.  Some employers offer discounts on gym fees and/or have an onsite gym, so you may want to look into that.
